Lanterns are becoming more and more popular. I have seen people use them a lot for holiday decor and just for dressing up their front and back porches. I have put a few different decorating ideas together on how to dress them up in your home! Enjoy.
This is a picture I found from Etsy. I have linked the site to the picture but I think these would be really easy to make yourself. Stain 2 pieces of wood. Screw on hanger and then add the lanterns. I love this idea for lanterns because it looks so elegant to me. I think this would be really cute in a foyer or entry way next to an entry way table or something.
This is a FUN idea! Get extra large Lanterns for your front porch and then decorate them according to the Holiday for the upcoming month.
Most of the time after weddings people will make shadow boxes for their keepsake memorabilia and then hang it on the wall or stashed somewhere in your closet. I think instead of a shadow box. Dressing up an antique lantern with your wedding memories is so elegant and different. This is really pretty to display on top of your dresser or even vanity.
Adding a lantern on top of a planter is a really decorative idea. I think even putting the lantern on top of a planter or pot and then plant flowers around it would be really cute and decorative as well.
This is a different decorating idea for those of you who don’t want to use an end table. Instead of the end table at the end of a couch or chair. Add a few over-sized lanterns with greenery inside of them for a more personalized style.

Adding lanterns to a non working fire place or even in a wall niche is a clever idea. I have seen pictures where people either fill them up with logs or clutter them with candles. I like the lanterns because it looks cleaner.
Dressing up an antique lantern will put a great touch of Farmhouse Style decorating to any home.
Instead of the average “Popular” drop down pendant lights. Use lanterns! I love this. This is also another Modern Farmhouse style of decorating your home.
This is another Holiday lantern. I love these because you change out the decor and make your own toppers to accommodate for the holidays.
Instead of using flower pots down your walk way stairs. Use oversized lanterns in various sizes. Would look beautiful for entertaining nights with candles lit up inside of them. I think this is also more functional throughout the year. Instead of empty flower pots during the cold months. Lanterns can stay out year round.
Instead of decorating the mantle with candlesticks. Use lanterns for something different, unique and stylish.
This source above for this picture will lead you to a tutorial to make Paper Lanterns. But when I saw this picture my mind went to vinyl. I think adding different vinyl decals to the glass of the lantern would be really cute through the holidays. Especially when its lit up.
